The Dome

The good thing about driving through a sun-shower is that we were greeted by a rainbow when we arrived at The Dome. Idyllwild wasn't on our radar and I don't think we would have considered it for a vacation, simply because we weren't aware of it. I'm grateful that Glamping Hub reached out to us and let us know about this incredible place. Nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains, and about 3 hours south of Los Angeles, Idyllwild is a perfect spot for a quiet getaway.

Aside from the huge size and interesting shape of the cabin, the first thing we noticed were the gorgeous views.  We spent the evening exploring the area around the property and watching the sunset. Later that night, we drove into town for dinner, and then came back and played old board games that we found in the cabin. I loved the feeling of being secluded because of the elevation, even though we weren't very far from neighboring properties. At night, we stepped out onto the deck to do some stargazing before retiring for the night. - Mina

    1. Yep. Full kitchen and 4 bathrooms, haha so definitely not camping or glamping or anything of the sort. It's not a site exclusively for "glamping". I always picture those whimsical tents with a proper bed when I hear that term. They have airstreams, tree-houses, yurts, and huge cabins like this listed on their site.
