portland head light

You can't visit Maine without going to see a lighthouse so we went to the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth. Our water quickly ran out in the mid-summer heat but luckily there was a stand nearby selling blueberry sodas. We sat and watched the tides and the sailboats for awhile and chatted with a man who was selling his oil paintings of Maine. He was really friendly, told me about his tattoos, and said "I probably broke your camera" when I took a photo of his face. I picked up one of his prints to hang in my home so that I'll be reminded of this trip whenever I pass by it.

Ahhhhhhhhh!...Maine! :-) It's been a while since we've been there, but I'm happy to see it still looks the same......Ahhhhhhhh! :-) Thanks for sharing the photos.
ReplyDeleteOh, I went there, too! What a cape. I adore everything about Maine.
ReplyDeleteAww.... I have a thing for lighthouses. I simply adore them! It´s a pity I didn´t get to visit Maine while I was living in the States!! I{m adding it to my list of Places to Visit
ReplyDeleteI like his face! It is fittingly weathered - it actually makes for a really beautiful photograph. Time would be all over that.
