Ocean Beach • 4 comments • Ocean Beach isn't the prettiest beach but it's the one closest to our house, so we spend a lot of time there. The real point of this post though, is that I saw a guy riding a unicycle on the sand. I feel like there's some sort of lesson to be gleaned from this. If I hadn't snapped the photo of him with my phone, I would have thought that I imagined it because he was speedy and disappeared quickly, into the night...
Sutro Baths & Land's End • 6 comments • If you ever find yourself in San Francisco, this area should be at the top of the list of places you'll visit. I regret not bringing my camera. Thankfully, the iPhone saves the day. The history of the ruins is fascinating and worth reading about. We hung around Sutro Baths for a while and then "hiked" Land's End Trail which is more of a leisurely walk than anything. We've been back several times since this day - watching the crashing waves, the pelicans fly by, and several sunsets over the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. This wasn't posed! It's a random couple kissing in front of a rock with a heart shaped hole. I had to be a creep and take this photo of them because it was so perfect (minus the man bun).
Marin Headlands • 5 comments • The first time I came to San Francisco, Alex drove me over the Golden Gate Bridge, to Marin, for a picnic and to take in a view of the city and iconic bridge from a distance. Every time we revisit this spot, I remember how excited I was to move here. I'm still in the honeymoon phase and can't imagine that the feeling will expire anytime soon. ... ... We're still laughing about this video.
Mount Davidson Sunrise - no. 1 • 13 comments • Geographically speaking, Mount Davidson sits in the center of San Francisco and is basically in our backyard (well, about a 15 min. walk). I may be impartial, but it really is my favourite spot to hang out and my #1 recommendation to visitors. The view isn't as expansive as the one from Twin Peaks, and it's slightly more challenging to reach the summit, which is why I think it's not a popular tourist spot. Having said that, it's not a difficult hike - even if you're a couch potato. These iPhone images are from the first of many sunrises that we've been fortunate enough to experience. The fog here always makes everything seem more ethereal. - Mina
