momofuku noodle bar • 5 comments • We ended our trip to NY with a visit to the Momofuku Noodle Bar. It was my first time eating ramen! But the pork buns (which we may have also ordered at the ssäm bar just a few days previously and aren't pictured here because we inhaled them) are really the best thing about the whole Momofuku establishment.
shake shack • 11 comments • Shake Shack was the number one most suggested place in NY when we asked for recommendations. We went to their original location in Madison Square Park, waited in the ridiculously long queue, and shared some delicious burgers. Since we couldn't make it to Brooklyn this time around, I'm glad we got to sample some Mast Brothers Chocolate in the frozen custard that we ordered for dessert. It was so good, that I'll have to make it a priority to go to Brooklyn the next time I'm in NY. Thanks for the tip, guys! We loved this place.
dallas bbq • 9 comments • After running around The McKittrick Hotel for a few hours, we stumbled into the first restaurant that we saw. Dallas BBQ was packed with people. It was lively, loud, and the servers were so friendly. I asked our waiter what an "onion loaf" was and he informed me that it was basically a plate of onion rings. I ordered the "small" portion, aptly titled the lil' onion loaf. Generally speaking, New York City doesn't fall into the big portion size stereotype that many other cities in the US adhere to, so I really wasn't expecting a massive pile of fried onions - not so lil' after all. I swear that we looked for a restaurant that serves healthy food... but everything else in the area was closed. I thought New York was supposed to be the city that never sleeps? sorry about all the crappy instagram photos lately. we'll give it a rest after the ny posts.
