blossom kite festival • 16 comments • Formerly known as 'The Smithsonian Kite Festival, The Blossom Kite Festival is held annually on the National Mall. We didn't know about it in advance so it was a pleasant surprise to stumble onto the festivities en route to the Lincoln Memorial. I'll take any excuse to listen to songs from Mary Poppins (they had this on repeat). - Mina
