Mexico City - Part I
At the beginning of this year, when Alex was in San Francisco and I was wrapping up affairs in Montreal, we shared a brief sojourn in Mexico City. It's a place that's dear to us because it's where we began our honeymoon.
We arrived in the evening and walked down a familiar street to share some tacos. The next day, we decided to revisit Frida Kahlo's home and studio. During our first visit, we'd remark on how different and colourful the homes were, in and around the Colonia del Carmen neighborhood (of the Coyoacán borough). I decided to document a few of the unique facades during our sunny stroll. - Mina

I love the colorful homes. Do they have the open atriums inside as well? I've seen those in Nicaragua and they're beautiful.
ReplyDeletegosh the colors in these photos are gorgeous I can't get enough!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me miss Mexico!
ReplyDeleteErin - Unfortunately, no one invited us in, so we wouldn't know. Some of the B&Bs we stayed at in Central America and even South Africa had that sort of set up. I know it's for security, but it is really nice to have a little courtyard-like extension to your home.
ReplyDeleteMina: You stayed in South Africa? Cape Town? I love, love these photos
ReplyDeleteSid - Yes! We were there in 2010 - Cape Town & Johannesburg - and really enjoyed our time there.
ReplyDeleteAhh gorgeous, and so colorful! One of my closest friends recently moved to Mexico City, so your photos are just encouraging me to buy that plane ticket even more. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Mina, your hair is stunning!
So much vibrant colour! My friend is from Mexico City...she goes back once a year to visit family. It seems off my travel radar (safety), and yet it is home to her, and that kinda blows my mind sometimes!
