book crossing giveaway (sort of)

While taking turns with Alex waiting in the long line up at Shake Shack, I sat on a bench and saw a book next to me. I quickly looked around to see if I could return it to it's owner but no one seemed to be nearby. There was a sticker on the book that said 'FREE BOOK'. Intrigued, I opened it and found out that it's part of some world-wide book exchange of sorts. It's actually a play - Arthur Miller's After the Fall. I thought that this was a fun coincidence, since we had just seen one of his other plays

So, the book has made it's way from New York City to Montreal. Alex and I have read it and are ready to pass it on to a new owner. I like this idea of traveling books. So, instead of leaving it on some park bench, I want to send it to one of you. Just leave a comment if you're interested in reading the play and I'll pick someone randomly and send it to you! (Please include some way of contacting you if you don't link to your site - twitter/facebook/email, whatever).

I'm inspired to read a book on my shelf that's been sitting there too long and send it off into the world. If you're interested, you can keep track of the one I found here.

  5. Such a great idea! It's nice to get an actual book these days, everyone is into e-readers and such. Don't get me wrong I like them but there is nothing like a good paper back book in your hand.

  8. How cool is that!! Wish I lived in a city where this would be appreciated instead of ending up being torn and left scattered about by the wind.

  13. A great idea- I actually found a book as part of this in the public toilets at my work (on top of the hand dryer). It was a children's book so I left it where it was and next time I went in it had gone
