Aït Benhaddou

On our way back to Marrakesh, we visited Aït Benhaddou, a 'fortified city' that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for 25 years. Apparently the kasbahs get damaged each time it rains. Most of the people in the town live in a more modern village at the other side of the nearby river but a few families still live within the ksar. We walked around and met some of the shopkeepers and artists.

  1. I'm still aspiring to be the kind of traveler you are! And that sky is SO blue...

  2. There's something about North African / Middle Eastern architecture that I can't get enough of. It just never gets old to me.

PS I've only been able to access blogs via smart phone the past few weeks and it rarely loads well. I've been saving your posts up so I don't miss a single amazing photograph.

  3. I have been there too. Nice photos. When a lot of bright light think of polarizer of B&W.

  4. @Mina: A good polarizer ( or circular polarizing filter ) is a must. It is not an expensive piece of photo equipment but matters.
In general what it does is during the bright light ( middle of the day, southern countries )it softens the light and gets the sky more deep blue not pale blue. Remember: the most visible effect happens when shooting 90 º to the sun.
