The western tip of Montreal Island is where you'll find the Ecomuseum - a zoo filled with injured wildlife, native to the Saint Laurence Valley region, that could not survive in the wild .  We visited on a sunny morning, and watched animals play, feed*, and nap. *A few of the photos are a little graphic, so if you're put off by that stuff, avert your eyes.

    I rediscovered that they have an extra eyelid, which is what you're seeing in the first photo. (I think I learned that as a kid, but forgot...)

  10. Wow. Beautiful. Owls always look so angry, but they are still very majestic. I think they always interest people so because it is rare that we see them. I'm in love with the foxes (especially the white one!) and the wolves. I know they are wild, and they have instincts, but they are beautiful, too. Regal, even.
