zocalo nyc

While hanging around Grand Central Station, we decided to grab dinner at Zocalo (not a real zócalo). We were beyond excited to see that they had al pastor on the menu. After indulging in the spicy pork tacos on more than one occasion, we were sad to leave them behind in Mexico City.

Because they didn't have a spit in this restaurant, the meat was roasted. So, it definitely wasn't the slow cooked, spit-grilled pork we had in Mexico, but it was still nice to be reminded of the delicious flavors we experienced during the first few weeks of our travels.

  2. I'm Mexican and I have made it my goal to find the best Mexican food in the city. Cafe el portal on Elizabeth and prince is the best so far. Their tacos al pastor are great as is everything on the menu. Maybe you can go next time you're in town. :)
