If you read our last post, you can probably guess where these were taken. It could be mistaken for a landfill, but it's actually an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We didn't only take pictures of garbage though, we also trudged through the sand and snapped photos of the camel-ride mongers, the mysterious sphinx, and of course the legendary pyramids... coming up soon.

ReplyDeleteI think it is so interesting and sad how the pyramids have not been taken care of, garbage everywhere and no real restoration.
ReplyDeletethis is very sad... people need to start respecting such amazing landmarks like these :)
ReplyDeleteOh my... thats a lot of trash.
ReplyDeleteHope your having fun in Egypt!
Jeez... What a shame...
ReplyDeleteWOWWWW! shame, shame shame on them...
ReplyDeleteyou're egypt posts are so interesting. they're not making me want to visit really, but i'm enjoying the fact that you're not just showing pics of the pyramids or lovely things.
ReplyDeleteThese picture actually makes me sad, mad and disgusted.
ReplyDeleteYes, i think it's sad that the area around the pyramids are so littered - and agree that there should be more efforts to keep it clean. but i think it's even sadder that people would litter and be so disrespectful around these amazing monuments that are thousands of years old. where's the respect? people really need to take some ownership and everyone (who visits) needs to do their part in making sure these sites are around for many more years...for everyone to enjoy.
oh my gosh, that is almost heartbreaking. people are so disgusting!
