Of all the countries we've visited, Egypt is one of the places where we've had the most flavourful cuisine. Throughout history, the food in Egypt has been heavily influenced by it's neighbors from the Middle East as well as Persia, Turkey, and Greece. We've been collecting recipes from all over the world so that we can attempt to recreate these meals when we eventually settle down.
{Meatballs & Baba Ganoush}
{The single pine nut in each centre was a nice touch}
{Circassian Chicken}
{Veal & Artichoke Tagine}
Cairo has plenty of American chain restaurants, but we can't understand why you would bother with them when the local cuisine is actually more affordable and often tastes so much better.

this all looks incredibly mouth-watering! I have to say, when i was there I also really liked the main dishes and some of the desserts (honey banans) but most other desserts were sooo sweet, way too much!
