you don't have to put on the red light • 19 comments • We arrived at the Benito Juárez International Airport around noon and made it through without getting the red light. Once you clear customs, there is an airport employee who asks you to press a button. If you get the green light, you are free to leave. If the red light presents itself, you must stay for a manual inspection of your bags. We were tired and flustered because of our lack of Spanish language skills and were incredibly relieved to have left without incident. Alex and I couldn't be more pleased about our accommodations, here, in Mexico City. Our patio and the door to our room is pictured above. The bedroom & bathroom: This bed and breakfast is located in a vibrant neighborhood and has a very artistic ambiance. I want to take pictures of every nook and cranny, and most likely will, in the upcoming days. Alex was starving so we took a walk and found some street food that was recommended by the B&B owners. We brought our purchase of torta de pollo y bistec and sope de pollo back to our private patio and enjoyed our first Mexican meal with some friendly company. The two of us are thrilled that this is all actually happening and can't wait to report what Mexico City has to offer over the next week or two. - Mina
